Hello, everyone I'm new this forum kind of stuff. Thought it would be interesting to share ideas about sikhism with others.

this is very potential site. i liked it very much where lots of people who lack the knowldge about sikhism can brighten their knowledge by sharing each with their own thoughts.
but we have to understand when our own foundation is not straight forwar and properly followed the faith can be spread on false pretences. i mean we have to agrre with certain fundamental rules on which sikh faith stands.
1. we all come from one light
2.thier is no cast systme as one is the same around the world
3.no idol or pictures worship or "matha takena"
4. no arti utarna.
5.no alcohal
6. no meat onsumption .
7.rituals
plus their are more supersitions.
then we are able to stand high to let the world to follow our path to be one and respecting each others. sikh faith is not only for the sikhs but universal.
let the world get benefits of our guru's teachings.
recent brwal in india when fighting broak out between our two leaders is pathetic and show of our culture who we are. looks like every one is hungry of power. we need leader like maharaja. ranjit singh ji today .

I know what you mean, I feel waekness in my faith constantly, but i know that's normal. How could i, basically a child, know where to go and Who to serve, but i seek truth and i seek God. This is why i came here and this is why i returned to my native religion of Christianity.

Hello, I am new to this site. I am a Sikh and a hard working stay at home mum (couldn't find that in the list of occupations when i registered) and found this site because I was searching for support groups for Sikhs. My youngest son goes to a CofE junior school and was shouted at and told to sit in the corner away from the other children because he said 'Oh my God' (in response to something, out of the ordinary, that he had seen). He was told that he had offended the Christian God and that what he said was the same as if a Christian had said 'Oh Guru Nanak'. I am in the process of writing to the school to clarify their views and actions (a meeting with the Head was completely unproductive) but would really appreciate any guidance, advice, support - anything. thanks.

i am totally new to this plat form i am a retired govt. officer
i am proud to be a sikh but also have lot of confusions about sikh religion
in my opinion sikhs r refined form of hindus but firm believers in sikhism may differ
what i feel in sikhism there is veru thin line between almighty & guru
some times it is said that there is only one God & He is the supreme
then in granth sahib this place has been given to guru
some body will say guru means gyan ( gu means darkness & ru means light means who remoes the darkness )
kabir also says that guru is superior than God but here for kabir it means teacher
in this cours of discussion i wud like 2 discuss all this so that all my confusions r removed
in granth sahib tousand times Hari word has come & guru says for its simran
similarily RAm Govnd Madho Gopal etc all have been taken in high esteem
& guru asks bhaj ram Or hari har hare etc
we r told to simar Waheguru means parmatama or Guru Or we have elevated to guru 2 Parmatma i am not able to understand
this may be my ignorance but i wud like it to be elaborated by some sikh intellectual

Hello. My name is helgasdogs. I am interested in comparative religion, human psychology, metaphysics, classical poetry, and just about everything else that promises to help me in my aim to help preserve Western Civilisation.
The Sikhs have, to my understanding, a long and noble warrior tradition and accompanying philosophy which I wish to understand.
For the time being, though, I am announcing myself and then retreating, as I have other, more pressing, matters to attend to.
The only other thing I wish to state for the record is that I am a racial patriot, of the white race, and so am a racialist. The proper racialist does not hate alien races, but merely wishes to preserve his own and engage in a dialogue with the other races in order that we may all come to know each other better, to the benefit of all. In this regard I act as a Fighter against untruth, ugliness, and suffering, and a Thinker regarding the best ways to attack these ills common to all humanity, and the rest of the living world besides.
I hope I have not come across disrespectfully. I look forward to my eventual inquiries, and if anyone has a question for me about my convictions, feel free to private message me. I am not obsessed with these things, but it is something I must air in order that you may deal honestly with me.

your views are respected.Das himself has same views regadring his Hindu race before das was converted to Gurmat.In Hindu Brother hood we have www.rss.org with same feeling as yourself.It is not offensive anyway.
Das finds that this religeon does not try to paint all pagan things as bad and tell belviers to leave them.Rather multiculture,multiethinic and multilingual world is supported then saying let local ethenic things should be totaly washed away.
Our God lives in nature and is oone with nature and due to natrual differance there are difreances in various races.no race has right to behold self as higehr then other to destroy the tradtions of other race.They should rather be protected.
