Thank you all for the welcome. There are not too many other forums who've expressed such warmth. Very touching, and very appreciated.
Looking through the forum so far I am delight to see so many genuine people people. Most refreshing.
One thread mentions the basics about Sikhism. This cuts through a lot and goes to the heart of your teachings. I did not see anything on that thread I could not agree with.
A question, hopefullly someone will answer for me. I live in the countryside here in Ireland (Co. Tipperary) and to the best of my knowledge there are no Sikhs in the area. There may be some in Dublin (90 miles away) but I am not certain. Is there a phone number I can call (in Ireland) to get some one on one information?

The town of Thurles, mentioned a lot in the link, is just four mile from my village!

Tipperary, as I have always come across sikhs in this Global village Earth, even at remote places. Sure, keep writing about your experiences with local gurudwara, and sikhs you come across personally.

I too enjoy the study of vast religions. I guess people call it theology. I thought Christianity was so difficult to study so far because of all the different views... the denominations and even the people within the denominations had different views. I find the history much easier to learn. I too am trying to learn about Sikhism and I was hoping that there would be a mutual exchange of info as I can share info on other faiths and the Sikhs could help me learn.

Please Feel free to raise your questions, however, before that preferably spare some time to browse existing threads too, as I believe there are lot of discussions about general questions in different sections on this site.
For Sikhs, sangat (association) is very important.
In the words of Yogi Bhajan: There are two basic fundamentals in Sikh Dharma, sangat and pangat. Sangat means San Gat. Sana, root word is Sana, Sana means love. Unquestionable love, not the love I love you, you love me, you brought me rose, I give you a kiss, I didn't bring the rose, you slap my face, not that kind of love. Love which has no demarcation, no dimension, love which has no question, no answer. Sangat thus means, sana love, gat means done. Where love is experienced.
I may be going off-topic, but learned members on this forum may shed more light on 'Sangat'
