Salok

ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
Agam agāḏẖ pārbarahm so▫e. Jo jo kahai so mukṯā ho▫e.
The supreme creator is beyond reproach and infinite. Those who revere, such are salvaged.
ਸੁਨਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਾ ॥ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਅਚਰਜ ਕਥਾ ॥੧॥
Sun mīṯā Nānak binvanṯā. Sāḏẖ janā kī acẖraj kathā. ||1||
Listen friend, Nanak is praying. Pious people have uniquely different style.

ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ॥

Eight stanzas hymn

ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਲ ਉਧਾਰੈ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਮੀਤ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੈ ॥
Sāḏẖ kai sang sabẖ kul uḏẖārai. Sāḏẖsang sājan mīṯ kutamb nisṯārai.
In the company of the pious, whole clan is saved. With the pious, one’s friends and family are salvaged.
ਸਾਧੂ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਜਿਸੁ ਧਨ ਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਵਰਸਾਵੈ ॥
Sāḏẖū kai sang so ḏẖan pāvai. Jis ḏẖan ṯe sabẖ ko varsāvai.
In the company of the pious, such wealth is found. Such a wealth that all benefit from.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕਰੇ ਸੇਵਾ ॥ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਰਦੇਵਾ ॥
Sāḏẖsang ḏẖaram rā▫e kare sevā. Sāḏẖ kai sang sobẖā surḏevā.
With the pious, the lord of conformance provides services. In the company of the pious, even the deities and angels come to praise.
ਸਾਧੂ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਪ ਪਲਾਇਨ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਨ ॥
Sāḏẖū kai sang pāp palā▫in. Sāḏẖsang amriṯ gun gā▫in.
With the pious one, bad actions dissipate. With the pious, the eternal virtues are recited.
ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਥਾਨ ਗੰਮਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਫਲ ਜਨੰਮ ॥੫॥
Sāḏẖ kai sang sarab thān gamm. Nānak sāḏẖ kai sang safal jannam. ||5||
In the company of the pious, one can discover everywhere. Nanak, with the pious, life becomes complete.

ESSENCE: In the salok, Guru ji state the infiniteness of the creator and enormous value in of knowing so for salvation. Guru ji find the company and the virtues of the pious as being with the likeness of creator.

Guru Arjan Dev ji in Astpadi 7, 5th stanza state the effects of company of the pious not only on self but family and community. Highest perceived functions come to be of service to the one in company of the pious whether worldly or spiritual centric.Bad is minimized and good gets so accentuated.

Guru ji conclude that in the company of the pious there are no limits to discovery and life becomes complete.
