Sagal samagrī apnai sūṯ ḏẖārai. Nānak jis jis bẖāvai ṯis ṯis nisṯārai. ||3||
All is strung in own one thread. Nanak one so loved is salvaged.
ESSENCE: In the salok, Guru ji state that many try to describe the creator but such is limitless. The creator creates with a variety of methods and of different types.

Guru Arjan Dev ji in Astpadi 10, 3rd sabad describe manifestation of creator’s creation. Many millions learned, celibates and hermits; as many birds and stones, as many wind and fires, as many countries and worlds, as many moons suns and stars, as many demons and deities.

Guru ji conclude all creation as though strung on a string and so salvaged as loved by creator.
Please note all errors are mine and I stand corrected.

Sat Sri Akal.

SPECIAL NOTE: In this sabad the reference to “many millions” of deities and demons as a matter of practicality destroys the Hinduism focus on a handful of their deities and demons as well as the use of such to control the masses. Guru ji essentially say that put all this aside, there is one creation and all recognizing love of creator are salvaged.

I wonder if the reference or meaning to Indra and his deities is to functions of the limitless Creation which are assigned these deities in Hinduism

So basically Waheguru Ji is responsible for everything that happens in nature...or is that too simplistic????

Seeker9 ji SGGS has a very fundamental precept which is beyond confusion. This is the concept of "One Creator".

All the rest of references are to show to people as to what they think one of (say Vishnu) there are many millions of, and so on. Essentially pointing out nothing unique or singular in such deities or demons. Making such precepts meaningless in the politest of ways, Guru ji's ways.

Why did Guru ji even mention any deity, God and Goddesses names in the first place. Very simple. They were addressing Hindus of the day, say 99.9% of the time. If they did not address, these would have been questions unanswered and exploited by the Brahmanic soul rulers to create confusion and bring the deserters of Hinduism, Sikhs back into the Hinduism fold. It goes without saying that even with the clarity with which SGGS addresses such, there are plenty of even Sikhs confused and falling for the Hinduism thoughts, Hindu/Sikh amalgamations or persona, and so forth. However Sikhism is not a dictatorship to pass judgement on such people. However if they try to misdirect SGGS we need to be vigilant and stand up.

Sat Sri Akal.
