Hi everyone,
I am doing a survey and would like to see how many people would be interested in my projects.
I need to know how many people would be interested in seeing a Sikh Superhero and
seeing comics, movies and videogames on such characters?
(All other factors neutral meaning, if you would like to see Sikh history being portrayed in those media, then it hasn't been taken care of, its not a problem, its neutral )
By superhero, I mean an imaginary one like Superman, Batman.
oh BTW, I didn't mention some examples of Sikh superheroes can be found on www.sikhiart.blogspot.com

We already have larger than life Superheroes to inspire the new generation here on this forum, maybe a producer will pick up on the idea and create a commercialised version of the real ones acting as ambassadors for Sikhism here on this site.

In Sikh community, there is a problem, opposite views break the most Sikhs into pieces, all try to be ambassadors of Sikhism after reading a few books on philosophy, psychology and some convictions taught on dinner table which may not be based on what Guru Ji preached over centuries. There are others who after studying Gurbani consider worthy of guiding others; all this is just a part of illusions put in our mind time to time. There is one only and only one that has ability to lead the youth, that is Gurbani itself. Superheroes of Sikh history deserve attention as they kept the light infused by Guru ji glowing to date.
Create something out of that history, Bhagat Singh ji if you can:)

What I mean is to create character on Sikh heroes based on sikh history as per your thread. Or you are into creating new Sikh heroes, let me know:unsure:
Singh saab if I did that I would get BASHEDeven more!!! Those guys down there at the Sikh Awareness, man they are weird. www.sikhawareness.com :: Log in

I had an idea about putting Banda Singh Bahadur in a fantasy sci-fi setting.
To make it sound different. I called him Bah'dr. He is from this alien race, selected by the leader to use his skills in a better way instead of wasting them.
This story will be called "One Will" because their beliefs revolve around the One, kind of like Sikhism. Obiviously, their beliefs will be according to my understanding of Sikhi so that helps differentiate more from the original Sikhs and Banda Singh. lol :D

Oh, and I would ratehr have people appreciate the real Banda Singh bahadur rather than Bah'dr. So thats one reason i woudn't personally build up on that idea.

This could get you into trouble Bhagat ji, as there will be some who in all sincerity would find this apostasy. It is a good idea to change the name per your plan to stay out of the storm of controversy. Some controversies are not worth it. Pick your battles and remain in chardi kala.

The understanding I use to answer and debate various threads.

Narayanjot Kaur,

Cool Idea, but just the superhero thing in general, I think it would make a difference if it was for a younger audience or like an older audience, because maybe a kids show would be liked byeverybody.

I'm actually in the process of writing a story about one.

It will be quite interesting as it is relevant to events that have happened in our history.:happysingh:

Dear Bhagat Ji

Not sure about Superheroes or other religions but I have come across Christian heroes and detectives. So, personally I think it's a fantastic idea and look forward to seeing how you develop this concept further.

Can I also take this opportunity to commend you on your artwork I have viewed on another site...just curious..what package have you used?

There's something remarkably lifelike about your subjects drawn via digital media...
