Found a rumal with Shahmukhi writing on it. It says Sat Sri Akal in Shahmukhi on the part visible covering your forehead when you are wearing the rumal.

At the time I got it, I thought most Sikhs could read Shahmukhi. However, I know many can not now. So, the question is, may I wear it to the Gurdwara, or will it be mistaken for something Islamic.

You Could..and You Should..it actually makes no difference as its simply a head cover..Sikhs accept any head covering..( On a non-sikh visiting a Gurdwara)......BUT when you become a SIKH...then topis hats helmets caps etc are out...not such a big hassle ji...
