Pure and Unconditional Love for God

Gurbani instructs us to develop pure and unconditional love towards God. In our worldly relations we tend to remember our loved ones. Guru Ji tells us through His Word that we are supposed to remember God, as God dwells in every heart.

Today I am going to share the following words of Guru Ji with those who are interested in Gurbani. In this Shabad Guru Ji describes
    love for God:

    Nanak Bani Nirankaar Paarbrahm Parmesar
Waho Waho Bani Nirankaar Hai Tis Jevad Avar Na Koi

    ANG 28

har bhagath har kaa piaar hai jae guramukh karae beechaar ||
Devotion to the Lord is love for the Lord. The Gurmukh reflects deeply and contemplates.

    Gurbani eis jag meh chaanan
    Gurbani alakh lakhiayaa
    Gurbani Gavo Bhaee
charan kamal parabh kay nit Dhi-aava-o

So in this shabad, we are told to look into our own hearts. To have a deep and heart-felt love.

dhilahu muhabath jinnh saeee sachiaa ||
    They alone are true, whose
love for God is deep and heart-felt.

jinh man hor mukh hor s kaandtae kachiaa ||1||
Those who have one thing in their heart, and something else in their mouth, are judged to be false. ||1|

rathae eisak khudhaae rang dheedhaar kae ||
Those who are imbued with love for the Lord, are delighted by His Vision.

visariaa jinh naam thae bhue bhaar thheeeae ||1|| rehaao ||
Those who forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, are a burden on the earth. ||1||Pause||

aap leeeae larr laae dhar dharavaes sae ||
Those whom the Lord attaches to the hem of His robe, are the true dervishes at His Door.

Guru Ji tells us again and again to Love the Truth.

English Translation of the Following Shabad:
    Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
By His Grace, the Guru is found, and the Name of the Lord is implanted within.
Without the Guru, no one has obtained it; they waste away their lives in vain.
The self-willed manmukhs create karma, and in the Court of the Lord, they receive their punishment. ||1||
O mind, give up the love of duality.
The Lord dwells within you; serving the Guru, you shall find peace. ||Pause||
When you love the Truth, your words are true; they reflect the True Word of the Shabad.
The Name of the Lord dwells within the mind; egotism and anger are wiped away.
Meditating on the Naam with a pure mind, the Door of Liberation is found. ||2||
Engrossed in egotism, the world perishes. It dies and is re-born; it continues coming and going in reincarnation.
The self-willed manmukhs do not recognize the Shabad; they forfeit their honor, and depart in disgrace.
Serving the Guru, the Name is obtained, and one remains absorbed in the True Lord. ||3||
With faith in the Shabad, the Guru is found, and selfishness is eradicated from within.
Night and day, worship the True Lord with devotion and love forever.
The Treasure of the Naam abides in the mind; O Nanak, in the poise of perfect balance, merge into the Lord. ||4||19||52||
