Phoolka asks panel to check ‘money power’ in SGPC polls
AMRITSAR: Supreme Court Lawyer and human rights activist HS Phoolka, contesting several high-profile cases related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, shot off a letter to Chief Commissioner, Gurdwara Elections, Chandigarh, on Monday, demanding guidelines for political parties to check the use of ‘money power’ and expenses in the upcoming Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections. In addition to fixing a limit on expenses, there should be a restriction on putting up posters and hoardings and restrictions on processions and use of campaign vehicles.
