AMRITSAR: National Sikh Dharam Parchar Committee, Italy president Harwant Singh Daduwal has expressed his inability to appear before Sikh clerics during their meeting on the issue of distribution of birs scheduled for Friday at Akal Takht secretariat due to personal reasons.
Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh had summoned Daduwal to appear before clerics and submit his clarification following the complaint by SGPC secretary Dalmegh Singh about non-cooperation of society in the distribution of 450 birs of Guru Granth Sahib in Italy.
In retaliation, the committee had levelled charges against the accompanying SGPC employees. Special secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) Baldev Singh Sirsa informed that Daduwal had sent a letter to Akal Takht expressing his inability since he couldn`t get leave from his job. Daduwal has, however, urged the Jathedar to summon him after August 15 when he would get leave from the company he works with.
