AYRSHIRE’S Sikh Association will become the first in Scotland to have its Sunday worship lead by a team of female ministers.
For the first time in the history of the group and according to chairman Paul Singh, it’s the first time in Scotland that women have led the Sunday worship.
The group, who meet at the town’s Woodlands Centre every Sunday, will hold the ceremony on Sunday, January 30.
Paul said: “As far as I am aware, this is the first time in Scotland that women have taken the lead in the Sunday service.
“It’s something that we are keen to start and I am proud to be the first.”
Ayrshire Sikh Association are currently in talks with North Ayrshire Council to take over the running of the Woodlands Centre.
