MANSA: The curfew was lifted completely from Bhikhi town of Mansa district in Punjab on Wednesday while Simranjit Singh Mann President of SAD(Amritsar) has demanded interference of Akal Takht Jathedar to get justice for the Sikhs detained by police.

Simranjit Singh Mann who held a meeting of his supporters at Ralla village said that it was first time that Sikhs were not allowed to celebrate the birth anniversary (Gurupurb) of Guru Gobind Singh. He said that the cases under sections 307 and 452 were registered without any material evidence. He demanded immediate suspension of SSP and DC of Mansa who failed to handle the situation.

The district administration had imposed curfew in Bhikhi town after Sikhs started protest against arrest of Sant Baljit Singh Daduwal without any provoction. The Punjab government was under pressure from Dera Sacha Sauda to stopt congregation of Sant Daduwal. Police had arrested about 200 sikhs including Sant Daduwal, most of them released next day.
