When speaking with someone who speaks Punjabi (and some English) and I am talking about Devanagari (writing system), what is the best word to use to refer to it so that they will understand what I am talking about.

Do they know it as nagari or as a different word?

Gyani Jarnail Singh, thank you for the reply. I am aware of that.

Let me rephrase my question. When in a conversation with a Punjabi speaking person and you are discussing other languages and the scripts to write them in and you want to talk about Devanagari (a script used for writing Hindi, Marathi, Nepali, etc.), what is the best word to use?

Do they use a different word in Punjabi?

Example: In the Punjabi language, the word for English is ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ (Angreshi). I am curious if they have a word they use to refer to Devanagari.

I think they just simply call it ਨਾਗਰੀ (Nagari), which is short for (Devanagari) ਦੇਵਨਾਗਰੀ but I am unsure. Hoping a Punjabi speaker here knows.
