A beautiful song, it is not by Kabir. It is about Kabir and written by Snatam Kaur. She is interpreting the message of Bhagat Kabir ji, a north Indian mystic and poet, who was a member of the Bakhti movement. His bani are included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Briefly the song is relating how Kabir set his soul free from the cycle of life and death. "You will never have to wander again, Give yourself to Satguru." That is what the song is about.

If you click on this link, http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/bhagats/ you will see many threads about Kabir ji. His life story and his bani make Snatam Kaur's song mean more. Hope you enjoy your reading here.

Here you go

Oh My Soul
Oh my Soul, you come and you go
Through the paths of time and space.
In useless play you’ll not find the way
So set your goals and go.
Sing such a song with all your life
You will never have to sing again.
Love such a one with all your heart
You will never need to love again.
Oh my Soul you come and you go (etc) ...
Walk such a path with all your faith
You will never have to wander again.
Give yourself to such a Guru
You will never have to seek again.
Oh my Soul ... (etc)
Pray such a prayer with all your soul
You will never have to pray again.
Die such a death at the feet of God
You will never have to die again.
Oh my Soul ... (etc)
Breathe my Love
Breathe my Love
Breathe in the quiet centre.

As do I sister Namji! cheerleader Thank you for that video link.

I have for quite a while now been a true admirer of Snatam Kaur's music. She is such a beautiful lady, and by that I mean both (and most importantly) her personality that I can discern and her exterior. Her voice has that right anount of soft, rich tone and haunting serenity. I find it very soothing. When I was going through a very stressful period of study last year I would listen to her, "Guru Ram Das" and it brought me great peace.

Bhagat Kabir ji has a special place in my heart. He is one of my favourite mystics of any faith.
