Tips on Developing Your Intuition
ByWendy Betterini

Of all the things I’ve learned during my life, I’d have to say that one of the most powerful was developing my intuition.

Intuition is something that EVERYONE has; but not everyone learns how to tune into it and use it effectively. In fact, many people have no idea just how powerful their intuition can be!

You can use your intuition in EVERY aspect of your life, from business to personal to financial to goals and dreams to relationships and beyond!

HOW DO YOU DEVELOP YOUR INTUITION?
Believe it or not, it’s surprisingly easy to do. It just takes practice and a bit of patience to see it through. Here are the steps I recommend:

1) Meditation- In order to hear your inner voice, you need to shut off the mental and physical chatter that interferes. This means spending time in silence daily, shutting out outside distractions and quieting your thoughts so you can turn your attention inward and connect with your center. The more you do this, the more easily you will be able to “hear” your inner guidance.

2) Awareness- Besides daily meditation, you also need to start tuning into your intuition throughout the day. This is important because you want to become familiar with the sensations your intuitive nudges create in your body. A good place to start is in your solar plexus area (middle of your abdomen). Focus in on this area often. How does it feel normally? Most people would probably say neutral, or calm. Then focus on this area when you are contemplating a decision. When you think of one choice or another, how does your gut feel? Do you get any sensations of tightness, queasiness, or excitement? Over time you’ll notice that you get very distinct reactions in your gut that tell you when something is good or bad.

Gut feelings are not the only way your intuition can guide you, either. Some people get full-body sensations like tingling or warmth or coolness. Some people experience an “instant knowing” that is purely mental. They have no idea how or WHY they know something, they just know it as surely as they know their own names.
Get familiar with the ways YOUR intuition works. Pay close attention to all parts of your body until you notice reactions happening there. Then continue to strengthen your awareness of these areas and learn what the feelings mean.

3) Journaling- Keeping a journal is an excellent way to work with your intuition. During your daily meditation sessions, write questions you’d like the answers to in your journal. Then ask these questions of your intuition and write what “FEELS” like the correct answer according to the signals your intution sends you. Every few days, go back through your journal and see if any of your previous hunches have come true. You’ll be surprised how often you’re right!

4) Testing- Strengthening your intuition is simply a matter of testing it constantly! Test your intuition whenever you can. Use it to decide which foods to eat, which clothing to wear, which route to take to any destination, which people to trust, which financial decisions are most beneficial, and so on. The more you test and track your hunches, the stronger they’ll get.

5)Finally, the most difficult part of the process is learning how to TRUST your intuition fully.

You will probably find yourself doubting the impressions you get, or trying to reason them out logically. It won’t work! Your intuition and logic are about as incompatible as two things could get.

If trusting is difficult for you at the beginning, start small. Let your intution guide you in situations where nothing bad will happen if you make a “wrong” choice. Little by little you’ll begin to trust more, and you can start using it in more important situations.
