Sikhism is a religion practised by some 22.5 million people worldwide, but while the image of the Sikh man with long hair tied up and wearing a turban is famous, what is the religion about? One local Sikh businessman in Galway provides the answers.

Ravinder Gill is a Sikh who has been living in Galway since 1986. He is a director of Maspac, a specialist contract developer and manufacturer of medical devices, based in the Mervue Business Park. It's there I meet him to talk about the Sikh religion and the important role it plays in his life.

Ravinder Gill did a good job as per best of his knowledge. So concisely put the information. Living life as a sikh in a place, where not many sikhs are around him with no Gurudwara, is commendable. Quick search yeilded a gurudwara in Dublin though.

A few following things caught my attention, please correct me with correct information:

1. Guru Nanak then toured Burma, Sri Lanka, Israel, Kashmir, and Mecca, and this is why there is a lot of Islamic contribution to our religion.
--- Not sure about Isreal! Not sure, what is meant by lot of Islamic contribution, I mean in what sense it is said so!

2. thought is important. The body and how you treat it is also important
--- Very nicely said. Even the final msg abt viewing other religions is good one.

Regards.

Though there may be many instances of Islamic Contribution.

One of the biggest Islamic contribution might be , though it was negative , the tyranny and oppession to non-muslim.

This was the turning point of Sikhism , which gave birth to the KHALSA.

As learned people have said , whatever happens , happens for good , even if a bad thing happens.
