Did you know Guruji Himself said that the brahmgyani Bhai Gurdas held the key to understanding Gurbani? And Bhai Gurdas was the person who scribed our Shabadguru in laridaar saroop? So when people read the vaaran of Bhai Gurdas, it's not just "some codes." The same thing with Rehitnamay. The Sikh Rehit Maryada is based on the Rehitnamay, or codes of conduct for the Khalsa. Not all Rehitnamas are equally authoritative, but many of them were written by people like Bhai Chaupa Singh Ji who Guru Gobind Singh Ji Himself instructed to write down rehits. So to expect Sikhs will not follow Rehits or Panthic teachings because you have a different opinion isn't very persuasive. I mean, if you want to dispute a code, fine.
