Mr. Madan Mohan Khattar organized the stage. During the function School students performed in stage dramas, skits, one act play The Painting competition organized by Project Director Mr. Subhash Dua. </p><p>The programme began with a prayer song followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Chief guest and guest of honour. The Children performed a lively cultural programme, looking resplendent in their colourful costumes The events were designed to create awareness on various themes, including nature and its importance, pollution, effects of bad food habits, importance of health, changing of life style, role of mother, modern position of our society with a touching poem “Mangti--- Begger” by Master Sharma followed by play Maa ka dil. </p><p></p><p>Honorable (Prof) Dr. Sarla Bhardwaj (President Award Winner) said that the first word the baby utters with the encouragement of mother that is Maa or Mama. This is the first word when brain starts to match up objects with names. So, the mother is the first and the best friend of the child. With her encouragement the baby responds. She keep on nurturing the baby, keep on talking with him/her everytime during bathtime to sleep. Develops his/her taste, play with him/her. She stressed on the burning issue of female foeticide. She said the time is not far away when the boys will have to travel thousand kms across the country to find themselves a bride if the female foeticide problem could not be checked. The girls have not been vanished overnight. This is the result of decades of sex determination tests and female foeticide that has acquired genocide proportions. If this problem could not be checked then the next census will reveal a further fall in child sex rations thoughout the country. Who is responsible for this declining sex ratio in Punjab which is considered as the worst since 1991. </p><p>She said the root cause of this deteriorating situation is the dowry related violence, which is the serious problem that affects the lives of women and girls. Unless and until the dowry related problems will not be checked we people keep on suffering and our worthy mothers will be neglected in society.</p><p></p><p>Hon’ble Chief Guest of the day Social worker Mrs. Raveena Takkar, Guest of honour Dr. Mrs. Sarla Bhardwaj and Dr. Anita Bansal (Gynecologist), distinguished guests, members of electronic and print media, shared the occasion. This was a moment of great honour and privilege for everybody those extended a very hearty welcome to all of the present dignitaries those have assembled to mark their love to for a special cause as it was Mother’s day and everybody was enthusiastic to pay their gratitude towards the role of Mother and what should be her place in the society. </p><p></p><p>Coordinator of Swachta Abhiyan Manch Mr. Madan Mohan Khattar thanked everybody for coming to share this occasion. He deeply honoured the presence of Bharat Vikas Parishad’s President Mr. Harish Gupta, Secretary Mr. Ravinder Gulati, Helping Hands Community’s President Dr. Amarjit Chausar, General Secretary Mr. Jawinder Bobby and Newly appointed Traffic Incharge Mr. Jasbir Singh </p><p></p><p>Newly appointed Traffic Incharge Mr. Jasbir Singh provided details about the traffic rules and provided information regarding punishment for first and subsequent offences regarding violation of traffic rules. </p><p></p><p>Dr. Anita Bansal, Gynecologist described the special relationship between a mother and with her children and said that there is a special bond that runs deep between women, rooted in tradition, motherhood and values passed down from generation to generation.
