Salok

ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
Agam agāḏẖ pārbarahm so▫e. Jo jo kahai so mukṯā ho▫e.
The supreme creator is beyond reproach and infinite. Those who revere, such are salvaged.

ਸੁਨਿ ਮੀਤਾ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਾ ॥ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਅਚਰਜ ਕਥਾ ॥੧॥
Sun mīṯā Nānak binvanṯā. Sāḏẖ janā kī acẖraj kathā. ||1||
Listen friend, Nanak is praying. Pious people have uniquely different style.

ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ॥
Asatpaḏī.
Eight stanzas hymn

ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਹੀ ਕਛੁ ਘਾਲ ॥ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
Sāḏẖ kai sang nahī kacẖẖ gẖāl. Ḏarsan bẖetaṯ hoṯ nihāl.
In the company of the pious, no hard labor is needed. Seeing the vision one is joyous.

ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਲੂਖਤ ਹਰੈ ॥ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਰਕ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥
Sāḏẖ kai sang kalūkẖaṯ harai. Sāḏẖ kai sang narak parharai.
In the company of the pious, blemishes are removed. In the company of the pious, hell disappears.

ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਬਿਛੁਰਤ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਾ ॥
Sāḏẖ kai sang īhā ūhā suhelā. Sāḏẖsang bicẖẖuraṯ har melā.
In the company of the pious, here and after becomes of comfort. With the pious, the lost creator is reacquainted.

ਜੋ ਇਛੈ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
Jo icẖẖai so▫ī fal pāvai. Sāḏẖ kai sang na birthā jāvai.
What is wished, such result is gotten. In the company of the pious, one does not leave unfulfilled.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸਾਧ ਰਿਦ ਬਸੈ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਧਰੈ ਸਾਧ ਸੁਨਿ ਰਸੈ ॥੬॥
Pārbarahm sāḏẖ riḏ basai. Nānak uḏẖrai sāḏẖ sun rasai. ||6||
The supreme creator resides in the heart of the pious. Nanak is saved, listening to the pious.

ESSENCE: In the salok, Guru ji state the infiniteness of the creator and enormous value in of knowing so for salvation. Guru ji find the company and the virtues of the pious as being with the likeness of creator.

Guru Arjan Dev ji in Astpadi 7, 6th stanza continue explaining the virtues and value of keeping company of the pious. All comes easy and joyfully, the concepts of past bad and future premonitions are removed, all is comfortable again and the creator is re-introduced into life understanding and much as wished is achieved with effort not getting lost.

Guru ji conclude that the creator understanding is in the heart of the pious and one is saved in the company of such pious.
