Sukhmani Sahib Astpadi 5 Sabad 2 /

ੴ / Ik▫oaʼnkār
Dec 21, 2010

Ḏenhār parabẖ cẖẖod kai lāgėh ān su▫ā▫e. Nānak kahū na sījẖ▫ī bin nāvai paṯ jā▫e. ||1||
Leaving the creator that bestows, is busy in other selfishness. Nanak, such can never achieve success as without the creator there is no honor.

Eight stanzas hymn
Agnaṯ sāhu apnī ḏe rās. Kẖāṯ pīṯ barṯai anaḏ ulās.
The rich creator gives out the valuables. One eats, drinks and uses such with happiness

Apunī amān kacẖẖ bahur sāhu le▫e. Agi▫ānī man ros kare▫i.
If such rich one takes back some valuable. The ignorant mind protests.

Apnī parṯīṯ āp hī kẖovai. Bahur us kā bisvās na hovai.
Such loses the trust by self. Such is not trusted again.

Jis kī basaṯ ṯis āgai rākẖai. Parabẖ kī āgi▫ā mānai māthai.
Return the article to the one that gave such. Follow creator’s directive without a frown.

Us ṯe cẖa▫ugun karai nihāl. Nānak sāhib saḏā ḏa▫i▫āl. ||2||
Such will be made happier four times over. Nanak, the master is always merciful.
ESSENCE: In the salok, Guru ji state that ones busy collecting worldly goods should reflect. The accomplishments are incomplete without honor. The honor is there in association of one with the creator in all.

Guru Arjan Dev ji in Astpadi 5, 2nd sabad cite further how one is given so much to live happily everyday. Even if some is taken away one is in protestation. How can such a person be trusted that gets so used to just taking.

Guru ji instead advise one to be ready to return happily anything received. In such a state one finds many fold of happiness as the creator is ever so full of heart.
Please note all errors are mine and I stand corrected.

Sat Sri Akaal,

"GURU's BANI" not relate's to physical world, or actions of physical plane.

At imaginative plane,
most of the time thoughts of mind are occupied by thought of others.

One's mind never reflects on self.

As thought is source of actions.

Our imaginative sense is stolen from self,
by imagination of negative and positive of outer world.

In one contemplate's or reflect one's own self.
One will be exalted.
