SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones is telling members of the Sikh community that a killer will be brought to justice.
Two weeks ago, two elderly Sikh men were gunned down in Elk Grove while they were walking. One man, 65 year-old Surinder Singh died. His friend Gurmej Atwal was wounded and remains hospitalized in stable condition.
There was no apparent motive for the crimes and no suspects have been arrested.
"Many in our community are afraid to leave their homes wearing turbans or Indian dress for fear of being attacked," said Igbal Badwalz, a friend of Surinder Singh's.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department along with the FBI vow to make an arrest soon and protect everyone living in the community.
