Sats ri akal I am a new member from the uk.

I am confused into the issue relating between bhatra and jatt sikhs.

In my city we have two gurdwara one which is for "bhatra" and one which is for mainly "jatt".

In sikhism its states that everyone is equal so Im confused how people got catorgorised into jatt and bhatra.

I would like to ask what is there difference between bhatra and jatt. How did they form? is this following the caste system so is it against sikhi?

Re: Segregation : tool of enemy

Sikhs are not permitted to have division among different religions what to talk of with in its own religion.

It is a clever ploy of those who want to tarish the greatness which is due to the sikh thought of " Sarvat Ka Bhalla " . No group talks or dreams of this unique thought

If we divide our self how will we unite the worlds religions.

So be on the look out for enemies it is lurking amongst us .

I guess ego is one among the many enemies we enjoy on this planet.

Hi Equality4ALL,

It is a great shame but you will see this practice throughout the UK. Unfortunately this mirrors Panjabi cultural traditions of marriage. Even now you will still see Bhatra marrying Bhatra and Jatt marrying Jatt. Maybe with the inter-marriage between castes we will see this poison change in the future.
