Punjab heritage to be featured in Hollywood?
at Monday, June 20, 2011
After Bollywood, now the heritage structures of this royal city are attracting the attention Hollywood filmmakers. If all goes as planned, the city will see the shooting of a Hollywood movie, which will depict the traditions of Punjab, in the near future.

Since Patiala has many heritage buildings like Qila Mubarak, Sheesh Mahal, Old Moti Bagh Palace and New Moti Bagh Palace, Hollywood producers seem to think that shooting of a movie in this city may bring them a hit. A three-member team from Hollywood stayed in Patiala for two days and left for Los Angeles, California on Saturday after conducting a recce of important places here. "Since the movie is related to a Punjabi family, Patiala and Amritsar are two options in Punjab that we have zeroed in for exploring the possibilities of shooting," said Davis Luis, who works as a manager with an international production house of Hollywood. He refused to divulge further details of the proposed movie.

The team feels that since Amritsar has an international airport, while in case of Patiala the Chandigarh airport is closeby and can be used to bring international stars, both cities are good options for shooting of the movie as compared to other cities. The other pluses are that both the cities have good hotels, and both have a large number of heritage sites, which can make for great locales for shooting.

During their two-day stay, the team members visited prominent heritage sites, old streets of Patiala and also interacted with locals.

Hollywood is racist enough already i wonder how this will turn out. Bollywood has been putting Sikhs down since it's beginning.
