REAL TRAGEDY: Nadim Ahmed, the head of the Pakistan Disaster Management Authority, said 12 million people had so far been affected by the floods triggered by monsoon rains and 650,000 houses destroyed over some 132,000 square kilometres, killing around 1,500 people.
