World citizen!
I think it is important to applaud Germans and Germany for being so open about the ugly part of their history. This allows healing for the people involved and provides an important lesson for the rest of the world. It is such a shame others don't take note of such lessons and similar events continue to occur the world over. Other countries have a dark history/present yet no other country as is open and honest about it as Germany is. That takes guts and honesty.

Lessons learnt:
Speak out against injustice, even if its not you
Pogroms are only the tip of the iceberg
Use your vote carefully
Put pressure on governments to act responsibly in their international policies
Treat refugees with respect - who knows what they have been through
