According to its founder, the biologist Rupert Sheldrake, a morphogenetic field, is an equivalent to an electromagnetic field that carries information only, not energy, and are available throughout time and space without any loss of intensity after they have been created.

Morphogenetic fields are created by the patterns of physical forms. They help guide the formation of later similar systems where a newly forming system "tunes into" a previous system by having within it a "seed" that resonates with a similar seed in the earlier form.

Morphogenetic fields can be used to describe how the human consciousness is shared. The Morphogenetic fields therefore play the main role in the idea that humanity at one point in time will go thru a dramatic collective shift in consciousness. A shift that will happen when the critical mass for a shift is reached, or in other words, when a certain number of spiritually awakened individuals are reached.

Morphogenetic fields are basically non-physical blueprints that give birth to forms. Over the last ten years researchers have found that when one percent of a population in a town meditated, homicides, car accidents, and suicides all decreased. The crime rate went down. A controlled study was done in 24 cities with a population of about 100,000. In 12 of those cities, one percent of the population meditated. In the other 12, they did not. The meditating cities showed a drop in crime of 16 percent. When the people stopped meditating, the crime rate climbed again. Meditation can therefore, bring peace to oneself and to our cities.

The story "The Hundredth Monkey" gives an easily understood background to the theory

The Japanese monkey, Macaca fuscata, had been observed in the wild for a period of over 30 years.

In 1952, on the island of Koshima, scientists were providing monkeys with sweet potatoes dropped in the sand. The monkeys liked the taste of the raw sweet potatoes, but they found the dirt unpleasant. An 18-month-old female named Imo found she could solve the problem by washing the potatoes in a nearby stream. She taught this trick to her mother. Her playmates also learned this new way and they taught their mothers too.

This cultural innovation was gradually picked up by various monkeys before the eyes of the scientists. Between 1952 and 1958 all the young monkeys learned to wash the sandy sweet potatoes to make them more palatable. Only the adults who imitated their children learned this social improvement. Other adults kept eating the dirty sweet potatoes.

Then something startling took place. In the autumn of 1958, a certain number of Koshima monkeys were washing sweet potatoes - the exact number is not known.

Let us suppose that when the sun rose one morning there were 99 monkeys on Koshima Island who had learned to wash their sweet potatoes. Let's further suppose that later that morning, the hundredth monkey learned to wash potatoes.

THEN IT HAPPENED!

By that evening almost everyone in the tribe was washing sweet potatoes before eating them. The added energy of this hundredth monkey somehow created an ideological breakthrough! But notice. A most surprising thing observed by these scientists was that the habit of washing sweet potatoes then jumped over the sea.

Colonies of monkeys on other islands and the mainland troop of monkeys at Takasakiyama began washing their sweet potatoes.

Thus, when a certain critical number achieves an awareness, this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind. Although the exact number may vary, this Hundredth Monkey Phenomenon means that when only a limited number of people know of a new way, it may remain the conscious property of these people. But there is a point at which if only one more person tunes-in to a new awareness, a field is strengthened so that this

Biology has something similar to the Hundredth Monkey Phenomenon - the Morphogenic Field Theory of professor Rupert Sheldrake, Ph.D. He explains, much like quantum physics, that thought energies of enough people will form a field which can then transfer to others elsewhere, who have never been exposed to the particular thought pattern or information. It has been proven in a few independent studies.

The morphogenic field created by enough people experiencing peace in their mind through meditation has the potential to change the negative mindset of the planet - to heal the planet from wars and violence. Dr. Tiller, head of the Department of Material Sciences at Stanford University, has found that the intensity of a unified group energy field is the square of the number participating. For every 100 people coming together and meditating is the equivalent of 10,000 meditating by themselves. The power of meditation can then heal the soul of the planet and her inhabitants.

Some research has been collected over the most recent years on this group field theory and meditations effect at promoting peace without taking sides. It is copiously presented in the book by the Arons, The Maharishi Effect. A brief synopsis: Groups of highly experienced meditators traveled to troubled spots in the world, Lebanon, S. Africa, Nicaragua, etc. They sat quietly grouped in their hotel and meditated. They did no protest or propaganda for peace and tranquility. They simply experienced Pure Consciousness. Within 3 days, violence dramatically subsided. When the critical number of meditators left, the violence returned. These experienced meditators of pure consciousness did similar studies with crime rates while meeting in Rhode Island during a summer. The decrease of auto fatalities and violent crime was almost 50 percent. Within two weeks of leaving their summer conference, the crime and fatality rates became normal.

There are other similar types of proof that collective numbers have great power. In science, take 56 random photons, add eight directed ones and all become directed, creating a laser. In the Bible, Leviticus, Chapter 27 says, that "20 will chase away a hundred & a hundred will chase away 10,000. All this just supports the critical mass principal of Dr. Tiller, adding more reason for us all to meditate, & when possible to meditate in as large a group as possible.

Thanks & Regards

Re: Morphogenetic fields Amazing concept!!!...............

This is pseudoscience. All physical things are composed of energy, by definition. If these fields you talk about exist in time and space, how can they be measured or even understood? By understanding their properties in space and time, you must understand their spacial (and therefor energy related) attributes.. And all energy decomposes and changes.

Post the URL where you found this article, and no doubt it will not be a credible or reputable source.
