ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਿਹ What is being said is true that there is cultural impact on Sikh society. What is of concern is when the spiritual aspects get interpreted / influenced. The below is one idea that was propagated earlier- "The Sikhi of Baba Nanak was one of the reform movements in the Hindu Society which was simply to leaven the social and religious thoughts of the society." Sikhi is distinct and a path of Sach with Naam Simran. The rituals and other practices had no place in Sikhi. The way of Guru Nanak is not through Sargun rituals but through Mool Mantar. Japji Sahib itself from the very beginning makes clear the true path of seeing Naam as Sach, the true reality in creation. The path is not to be ascetic in thinking and follow yogic ways but follow the path of seeing Satguru within and Sabad as Guru. It is the path of Guru-Sikh by being Gurmukh. The Sargun ways have a glitter about them but are not true ways. We don't have to be fundamentalist or fake ignoring truth as some consider not everyone equal. The spiritual truths in Gurbani have to be seen in its own light and not by comparing it with other religious thoughts to interpret as some academics do. Cultural commonality is fine as long as we are clear within of our path.
