Of course not. We all know that. Evidently Chris and Peter, the authors of What is Islam?: A Comprehensive Introduction, by Chris Horrie and Peter Chippindale, don't.

Let's politely get on the publisher to change this glaring error.

In preparation for a program at one of the largest mosques in Michigan, I read the book entitled, What is Islam?: A Comprehensive Introduction, by Chris Horrie and Peter Chippindale. Much of the information therein was quite useful. However, there is a glaring error, offensive to us Sikhs on page 13, it reads
“Polytheism – in the shape of formal religions at least – remains as a major force only in the Hindu and Sikh religions of the Indian sub-continent.”
This egregious error needs correction. I am appealing to Sikhs, especially in the U.K. to contact the publishers of this book who can bring this to the attention of the appropriate editors and, in turn, to the authors themselves.
The revised paperback edition that I have was published in Great Britain in 2007 by
Virgin Books Ltd ,

Star Books first published this book in Britain in 1990.
I believe that Sikhs in Britain contacting the publishers would have the most impact. This is one statement in the book, but it grossly misrepresents our faith.
