Heritage Status For Sri Darbar Sahib :

i don't understand how having world heritage status is a negative thing. it doesn't automatically give the GOI any kind of "ownership" over harimandir sahib, all it does it guarantee that they cannot attempt to destroy it again.

from the UNESCO website:

"What makes the concept of World Heritage exceptional is its universal application. World Heritage sites belong to all the peoples of the world, irrespective of the territory on which they are located"

isn't this already true of Harimandir Sahib, doesn't it belong to everyone?

sorry, but i simply don't see the harm in taking international money from a well established NGO for maintenance and restoration of this great monument.

read what UNESCO says for a more balanced understanding of the issue...
