Ludhiana, Punjab (December 21, 2013): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) a Sikh youth named Gurpreet Singh Guri Hans was released late this evening from Central Jail Ludhiana. Advocate Gurjinder Singh Sahni told SSN over phone that Gurpreet Singh’s bail was secured today from the Ludhiana police administration and he was released from jails.

Advocate Gurjinder Singh Sahni and Damandeep Singh Khalsa received him Gurpreet Singh outside Ludhiana Jail.

Gurpreet Singh Guri Hans had attempted to use the stage of so-called World Kabaddi Cup on November 14, 2013 during final match at Ludhiana. He was booked by Division Number 8 police station of Ludhiana under 107/151 (Cr. P. C.), preventive detention clauses. He was sent to Ludhiana jail.

Gurpreet Singh Guri’s released was delayed by some days because the police administration was not accepting his bail.

It is notable that due to application of Police Commissioner system in Ludhiana the power to grant bail in these cases lies with the police (in normal situation this power lies with the magistrate).

Seriously, this campaign is really starting to kick off, it seems like the kaurs and Singhs at Amb Sahib have broken them. Look at the whole Akali Dal party, the whole establishment, just u-turning their way out of trouble. Three of the six Singhs are free, and a fourth possibly as well. Soon the other two may follow. And now Gurpreet Singh too.

Respect to Gurdas Mann, Pammi Bai, Gurpreet Ghuggi, RUSSELL BRAND (!) and many others who brought this cause into the media attention.

I hope Bhai Sahib lives to see the success of this. Non-violent civil disobedience in action.

First they ignore you
Then they laugh at you
Then they fight you
Then you win!
