Kingston celebrated interfaith week with a Faith Fest allowing different groups to share their food and artefacts.

Attendees at the event, on Thursday, November 25, were due to see a turban tying demonstration by the Sikh community, an explanation of vestments worn by priests, and how to wear a sari by the Hindu community.

The week ran until Sunday, November 28, and included a talk by a survivor of the kinder transport from Nazi Germany at Kingston Liberal Synagogue.

Speaking before the event, Andrea Campanale of Sacred Space, Kingston, said: "We want to show that religious belief can actually bring people together."

Towards the end of the week political leaders and police addressed 1,000 worshippers at Kingston mosque in a show of solidarity following an attack on the mosque on November 21.
