Every third sample fails in Punjab

CHANDIGARH: It’s a grim reminder of how greed is increasingly taking over conscience and playing havoc with human health. The proactive move of health department in Punjab to discourage spurious and stale products being used for making sweets, has revealed a shocking finding. With laboratory tests still continuing, every third sample collected during recent drive is failing, health department officials revealed.
The over-flooded food, drugs and excise lab of Punjab located at Chandigarh is working round-the-clock for the past two weeks to test every sample it is receiving, to keep pace with the amount of samples being seized.
