Controversial DSP Presents Records Of Calls Made By Harpreet To Bibi

The Central Bureau of Investigation today presented and verified the records of calls made by Harpreet Kaur to her mother Bbi Jagir Kaur from an STD booth in Rai, Sonepat, after she had eloped from Jasdil Mansion in Begowal before her death.

Presenting the call records of the STD Booth in Rai, DSP Kanshi Ram told the Special CBI Court here today that Harpreet had made these calls to her mother, the then SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur on April 9, 2000, when Bibi Jagir Kaur had assured Harpreet of her well-being and her subsequent wedding with Kanwaljit, whom Harpreet was in love with at the time.

Bibi Jagir Kaur is also reported to have asked her to return back home, as she and her family were ready to formalise her liaison with Kanwaljit.

Harpreet had earlier run away from their house Jasdil Mansion on April 9, 2000, and the call records of the STD booth were seized by the CBI DSP on August 26, 2000.


Harpreet had then stayed with a friend of Kanwaljit. The STD booth owner Ranbir Singh had already testified before the Special CBI Court here that Harpreet Kaur had made all these calls from his phone booth. Besides, Manjit Kaur the sister of Kanwaljit Singh has also been examined by the court.
