Desperate Swamis come up against inspired Sikhs in league
Their campaign in tatters after two consecutive defeats, Swamibapa need to regroup quickly as they go into a must-win match against leaders Sikh Union in the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association cricket league tomorrow.
The former league champions have looked vulnerable as the players have found it tough coming to terms with the challenging competition.
With four matches played, Swamibapa are second from bottom. Tomorrow’s contest comes as a huge challenge and test for the side that was once the envy of their rivals.
In the last two matches against Gymkhana and Stray Lions, Swamibapa’s tactics have not worked. It will be interesting to see how they handle the pressure from the current leaders.
Sikh Union are best placed so far with 70 points, courtesy of four wins from as many matches.
At Gymkhana, second placed Stray Lions will be hoping to put pressure on leaders Sikh Union when they take on the hosts. With three wins from four, Stray Lions who boast of four national team players will come into the match as favourites.
Third placed Kongonis will be away to Kanbis at Eastleigh High School in match that is expected to go either way.
Kongonis are coming from a heavy defeat to Sir Ali where they scored 48 in pursuit of 184 while Kanbis return to action from a morale boosting win over Gymkhana.
Sir Ali will take on Kanbis Yellow at Sir Ali while fourth placed Premier will battle it out with Cutchi Leva at Cutchi Leva in other matches.
