After this Airport authorities invited Sikh representatives in Milan to find out a solution. A process has begun, there are a few suggestions from both sides. They are willing to change a little bit, respecting our sentiments. Now Representatives have asked for 20 days to discuss the matter with Akal Takhat sahib, Sikh council U.K. and all other concerning parties.

The Airport Authorities are saying, that their machines can not detect big turbans. A few people can carry dangerous chemical, liquid in small quantity and if you mix it can blast.If not sikhs, others can use turbans for their advantage.... It would be better if you dnt tie big turbans.They do have a few security check machines which can detect anything under turban, but Italian laws doesn't allow to use these machines as they reveal full body of people. Americans are using it but Italian govt. has not allowed. However, now they are saying they will not make it mandatory for every sikh to remove his turban, but on the basis of doubt they can check. They will touch our turban with gloves on their hands, wouldn't remove it. But, if they get suspicious then they would take you to a room, where you will remove it on your own, wouldnt ask to you remove publicly. They would check and then you can tie it again in the room. Sikh delegates have not agreed and this process has just begun. But, one can say a little progress has been made.

It is sad to notice that Sikhs have become the punching bags in the name of the world security against any attacks by the "terrorists". We have been, as they say, the collateral damage since 9-11.

The most pathetic part of all this is that the real terrorists that tried to do any damage in the US, UK, Indonesia and others had no turbans on.

The shoe bomber, The underwear bomber, the Time Square bomber and many more who tried to kill the innocent in the name of Allah are a few examples.

The progress will be steady and slow. Thanks to the advocacy Groups like SALDEF, Sikh Coalition and brave journalists like Jarnail Singh Ji.

I would request all the Sikhs around the world to become proactive participants of the Interfaith Forums where ever you are. This is the quickest and the most beneficial way to have an impact in the society we live in. Through these forums, one can give talk to the local schools against bullying, train the local Police departments and many more things which will benefit us and our coming generations.

Very well summed up Sir,
It is the duty of sikh to contribute something to the Panth as well. Sikhism and sikhi are in 'closed society'; sikhi values need to be expressed and spread at rate faster than it was earlier. SGPC has failed to come up to the expectations of ordinary sikh. Hence each sikh is obliged to participate the way and manner suggested by you.

In india things are slightly different due to the run of the mill politics of Akalis. It has helped sikhi in indirect manner i.e. at least the authorities know the nuisance value if something untoward happens to sikhs. In western world things would be different.

If one cannot participate in the inter faith forums one can send small articles to the Local news papers for publications for general awareness purposes. We have not sold or marketed ourselves properly and hence the consequences. General apathy towards sikhs in India is also very well known.

We had faced lot of problems in getting allotment Land at concessional rates [applicable to religious societies]for 'Gurdwara sahib' in the city where I reside. It was through intervention of Journalist that the Land was allotted at concessional rates. Journalists/news papers, have a very important role to play in these and allied matters.

If u all have noticed in the video jarnail veerji has said that there's a lack of media.. no media for sikh news no seperate newspaper.. i request everyone if dis prblm can be resolved.. Lets pls share our views n advices or solutions..n also this video so that the sikh youth n every sikh is atleast aware of the issues n discussions related us to cum out wid their best..

before u giv ur reason of making this statement.. let me first tel u who jarnail singh s bhindrawale was..

Can you define the word terrorist. Does a terrorist help the weak and the oppressed,does a terrorist want to stop women being raped. Sant ji not only tried to help weak sikhs he helped weak hindus too. He wanted all to be treated as equals in india irrespective of their religion, man or women. He lived by the sikh teachings the way all sikhs should follow. True sikhs cannot be terrorists but the complete opposite. He helped sikhs give up drugs and alcohol was that what terrorists do? He never resisted arrest and everytime they did arrest him they could not charge him because they had nothing to charge him with. Indira wanted ethnic cleansing of the the sikhs and had planned to attack the golden temple for years, her army were practicing on a replica of the golden temple years ago. Now she used sant ji as an excuse saying he was a terrorist and he had arms inside the temple. Yes the temple had arms inside it. The arms have been inside the temple since the guru day. It is part of miri piri. Please feel free look it up. Does a terrorist say only fire back as a last resort? If they were after one man why did they attack more than 30 other sikh temples at the same time. Why did they choose one of the holyest days of the sikh calender to attack knowing very well there would be pilgrims from all over the world there at that time including women and children? If the indian government had nothing to hide why did it have a media blackout? Why did they stop amnesty international and other human rights organisations in? Why did it stop the red cross from helping? Please listen to sant ji's speaches and make your own mind up if he was a terrorist. See for yourself if he wanted khalistan or just equal human rights for the minorities of india. Sikhs to this day are still being raped and murdered and no one is being held accountable. Do your reaserch and make up your own mind and thanks for taking time in reading what I have to say...
