Unlike the Lahore-Amritsar service, the Indo-Pak bus service between Amritsar and Nankana Sahib, the birth place of Guru Nanak near Lahore, is running into losses.
Recently, the bus reached Nankana Sahib from Amritsar with one Pakistani passenger while left for Amritsar with only two Hindu passengers, the online news agency reported.
On the other hand, the Lahore-Amritsar bus service is running successfully and governments of both countries have decided to add two more buses on the route.
Officials here said the Amritsar-Nankana Sahib service is mainly aimed at Sikh pilgrims who want to visit their places of worship in Pakistan. Therefore, its utility is more during the festive season.
