Good that these studies are ON, hopefully this results into some learning too. BTW, How many attacks were made by actually turbanned people. Innocents get harassed or even killed. I was reading an article, which stated that local people find it difficult as there innocent children face terror everywhere. What about those sikh kids, who are bullied continuously in schools, their most formative years? The most tough time is actually for those, who practise true religious principles, contribute constructively towards society, and still harassed like foriegn insects. I know, I am harsh in writing today, but rest assured, I am not a mood-controlled person.

Regards.

The problems of the Sikh identity...haven't they always been around?

What about the Sikh boys during Guru Gobinds time...same deal.

The Sikh boys in India whose counter-part, nearly identical hindu brethren, can do anything they want.

We have an identity, because in a crowd, even a devil-worshipper can exist without anyone knowing. Our identity is known, our beliefs are stated, just by a mere look at us.

Bullying in school has always been around..

As I studied from India (in and out of Punjab), I didnt face this kind of problem there. When came out of India, this seems to be concern, so mentioned it. 'The problems of the Sikh identity' can make us better sikhs, to the core of our heart, if channelized in a constructive way.

I think bullying is part of culture though. In America...throughout middle school its very apparent.

I think kids that are fat get picked on the most.

Besides that....a parent needs to be able to teach his child how to turn the problems around to make them a better sikh...its all about learning ;)
