AMRITSAR: All district level SAD MLAs, ministers who belonged to Amritsar district and all Akali workers including youth Akali Dal conspicuously remained absent here Sunday during the state level program of unveiling of a statue of BJP stalwart and former Member Parliament Dr. Baldev Parkash here.
The function wasa attended by National President of BJP Nitin Gadkari, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister and President Shiromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Nevertheless to say that today half page ad was released by the BJP in the section of media along with the photographs of all ruing Akali Dal MLAs and ministers it was announced that State level program would jointly be organized and attended by BJP and SAD.
The absence of senior Akali leaders has directly passed on message for the general public that there are some differences in the SAD and BJP collation government which came on fore during the State level program organized by BJP leadership.
Due to the conspicuous absence of Akali activists the fifty percent chairs which were arranged for the sitting of masses were seen vacant. The state level program was scheduled to start at 11.30 a.m but delayed for two and half hours. It was embarrassing time for BJP to arrange gathering during the presence of Nitin Gadkari in the city, which was his first visit in Punjab after becoming party president.
Things did not ends up here, situation became more piquant for the State level BJP leadership, when BJP fire brand, State General Secretary and Punjab cabinet minister Lakshmi Kanta Chawla left the function in huff before Nitin Gadkari and Parkash Singh Badal could deliver their speech. The reason behind the anger of fire brand was described that her name was not announced by the stage secretary to deliver speech. Inspite of repeated attempts Chawala was not available for comments.
