Israeli attacks across Gaza have continued, killing 51 Palestinians since dawn on Wednesday, including 12 waiting for aid. mTen more Palestinians have starved to death, including two children, days after famine was declared in Gaza. A joint statement from 14 of the 15 members of the UN Security Council has called for Israel to stop further expansion of its military operation in Gaza and backed the IPC global hunger monitoring system that confirmed a famine in Gaza. The Israeli military’s Arabic-language spokesman, Avichay Adraee, says residents of Gaza City, which the Israeli military plans to seize, will inevitably be forced out. Israeli forces are continuing a raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, which has injured at least 80 Palestinians. Israeli forces conducted a two-hour operation in a former army base in Kiswa, south of Syria’s capital, Damascus, a day after an Israeli attack in the same area killed at least six soldiers. Starvation strategy: How Israel created famine in Gaza Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and former Trump Middle East envoy Jared Kushner have attended a meeting with US President Donald Trump over the war in Gaza, according to a senior White House official. A new investigation (PDF) by research group Forensic Architecture (FA) has found that the Israeli military has pursued a deliberate strategy of starvation that has pushed Gaza towards famine. The report details how Israel has weaponized aid, forcing Palestinians to travel long distances to reach military-run distribution centers in the south of the Strip while opening fire on those same civilians as they seek aid. Researchers documented attacks on civilians, the destruction of infrastructure such as food warehouses, and looting by Israeli-backed gangs. Between March 18 and August 1, 2025, each incident was geolocated and verified using video and satellite imagery, creating a detailed picture of how aid is being manipulated to kill, rather than save, Palestinians. Read more here. US President Donald Trump hosted top officials, including former British PM Tony Blair and former Middle East envoy Jared Kushner, on Wednesday in a meeting to plan for post-war Gaza. The meeting, which a senior White House official told the Reuters news agency was “simply a policy meeting,” came two days after Trump said that he expected a “conclusive ending” to the war in Gaza in the next two to three weeks. Israeli media outlets also reported that top Netanyahu adviser and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer was in Washington meeting US officials but did not confirm whether he attended the White House meeting. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar is also in Washington but did not attend. No further details have yet emerged about what exactly was discussed at the White House meeting or what the results of the meeting were. US special envoy Steve Witkoff had previewed today’s meeting on Tuesday’s Fox News’ Special Reporting with Bret Baier and said that they were putting together a “very comprehensive plan” for the “next day” after the war ends. “Many people are going to see how robust it is and how well-meaning it is, and it reflects President Trump’s humanitarian motives here,” Witkoff said. However, as talks continue, Israel has yet to respond to Hamas’s approval of a ceasefire deal proposed by mediators Egypt and Qatar. Moreover, Israel has pushed through plans to seize Gaza City, with analysts finding that Netanyahu’s government has no appetite to pause the fighting for now.As reported earlier, Israeli forces conducted a series of strikes on a former army barracks in Kiswa, southwest of Damascus, according to Syria’s state-run Al-Ikhbariah TV. A Syrian military source has now told Al Jazeera that the Israeli army carried out a landing operation, with the use of four helicopters, in the army barracks in Kiswa and spent more than two hours there. According to the source, the Israeli army brought in dozens of soldiers and an unspecified amount of search equipment. No clashes took place between the Israeli forces involved in the landing and the Syrian army. Click here to share on social media The International Commission of Jurists has filed a formal request for an investigation into International Court of Justice (ICJ) Vice President Julia Sebutinde over her recent comments about Israel. The commission, which advocates for human rights and rule of law worldwide, argued that Sebutinde’s position on Israel reveals a bias that brings judicial integrity into question. Sebutinde, who is one of the 17 judges in the ICJ genocide case against Israel, also faces other critics. Sebutinde, 71, is a Ugandan judge who is currently serving her second term at the ICJ, where she has sat since March 2012. She is the first African woman appointed to the Hague-based ICJ. She was elected as the vice president of the top United Nations court in February 2024. Saar made the comment to reporters after a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington that he described as “very good.”
