Thx for your your response. I think there are general guidelines and not as nonchalant.
For example, is reciting Japji Sahib while reciting from Sri Granth Sahib Ji an individual's choice? I've seen dhoop jot and placing nariyal on a garba full of jal . Are all these part of the ritual?

As Sikhs we all do matha tek. That is not up for debate.
The troubling part happens when see the walk-ins who do not do matha tek. I know we raise our eyebrows when we see this happening. There are some gurdwaras that have posters highlighting the proper decorum of attending gurdwara. Is it...
Should non Sikhs attending gurdwara be asked to do matha tek where there is prakash of SGGS Ji. For example at an Anand Karaj. It is common to invite friends who have no interest in Sikhism. Many attend the Anand Karaj, walk into the hall and simply sit without any matha tek.

Are these phrases taken from some sikh granth?

In these hymns, Guru RaamDaas Ji, the fourth Sikh Guru, has described the marriage of the individual soul with the Eternal Soul. These four hymns mention four stages in the progression of love...
Should a divorced couple who want to perform a second marriage have laavan phere?
Anyone care to share any guidelines?
Regards.
Some Sikh elders have commented that laavan can be recited but phere should not. To some extent it makes sense. I am hoping to explore this topic a little. View points...
