Why Didn't Obama Mention Sikhs In His Inaugural Address?

    I didn't know that. Interesting.

Why Didn't Obama Mention Sikhs In His Inaugural Address?

He probably believes us to be too small a community for him to mention. I don't think he believes us to part of Hindus. I think he is more alert and intelligent than that. I think Hilliary Clinton would have mentioned Sikhs. She had a lot Sikh donors during her campaign.

How To Say "Wahe" While Taking Breath Inside

re: How to Say "Wahe" While Taking Breath Inside I know what you mean. You are breathing air IN, so how can you vocalize syllables, which requires exhalation. I think you watched the same video that I did. I'm still working on it myself.

    Something Interesting: Silent Brahmgianis

Yes, they are Nirankar. Nirankar is forever in meditation if that is what you mean. Not silent. In Jaap Sahib, Maharaj ji says in pauree 194 : " Anaathae / Pr;amaathae / Ajonee / Amonee" There is no Master above You, You are the Destroyer, free from birth, and You do not observe the silence –...

    Something Interesting: Silent Brahmgianis

Sorry for the late reply, navj0t. 1. I'm not sure exactly how Gianiji knows, but he tells about visiting and talking with Brahmgianis in his Katha. Someone must have told him. 2. Could you kindly give the Shabad line from Sukhmani Sahib that you are talking about?

General Should I Bring The Guru Granth Into My Home?

Those are some good questions. Want to know these myself. Some of things will come about naturally for you as you develop more and more love for the Guruji. It is good to know some of the basic "rules" first though.

    Lust & Sexuality

The child molestation cases we see in the news are Roman Catholic priests. They are not permitted to marry, but to remain celibate. Most religious traditions do not have this pratice. I agree with you that sex is misunderstood by us. It is too powerful a emotion, and it can be easily misused...

    Something Interesting: Silent Brahmgianis

Ji...bilkul. Agree with you about being a Sikh. People claiming with themselves as Singhs/Singhinias and Khalsas is outrageous to me. To be even a Sikh is a tremendous feat. May Waheguru bless us with such karma.

    Lust & Sexuality

Sherni Kaurji, The focus of Singhji's and mine post is not that we are infallible or that someone who mastrabates is a sinner and is doomed; we are simply trying re-iterate what Guruji has said about lust. When I said, "This reminds of how when people say that your soul is eternal and...

    Something Interesting: Silent Brahmgianis

I'm suspecting that you're a Brahmgiani of the vocal type, Gianiji. ;) Agree with you. Truth needs to be told regardless of opposition.

    Lust & Sexuality

Agree w/ Singhji above. Very good response. This reminds of how when people say that your soul is eternal and pure. This does not imply you do whatever you want without any consquences. God's light shines in you, but your actions diminish it to the point where you don't see it.

    Something Interesting: Silent Brahmgianis

To those of you who remember this post, some more clarification by Giani Thakur Singh Ji: At another point in the katha, Gianiji says that the Brahmgianis are now gupt or silent now because people don't believe what they say. People now either don't follow their teachings or outright attack...
