What's So Funny About Outsourcing?

It seems the shy young woman is a low caste person who was hired just so they could have someone to fire (She was given help and encouragement and wasn't fired.) There are other developments, too. As we learn more about the characters, they are becoming less one-dimensional and more two-dimensional. Perhaps in time, they'll fill out and because people we can care about. I admit I'm beginning to like Madhuri a bit; Gupta is annoying, but every office has one of him in the USA, so I suppose he's no more offensive as an Indian. The Sikh character got off to a very bad start with the USA manager making a quip about the Indians' "strange headgear." yellingmunda</p><p></p><p>I still do not like this programme. That the "show [is] the #1 new network show so far this season' is a complete astonishment to me. Still, it is refreshing to see a sitcom not set in the USA. And there is still one major problem. What gives with this unchardi kala Sikh? Is he just constipated or what? If I'm not otherwise engaged, perhaps I'll tune in and watch it tonight and see if he does anything besides scowl and look a bit scary. At least he's in a turban. But I wish they'd show a guy in a turban as less menacing and more friendly. :redturban:</p><p></p><p>(BTW, nothing to do with <em>Outsourced, </em>but I'm experimenting with not using "America" and "American" only to refer to the USA.
