Paul Monteiro, Associate Director of Community Relations at White House commented “Whether it is mentoring young kids, whether it is feeding needy people, or helping other countries in natural disasters and whether it is protecting the civil rights and civil liberties of all the people, UNITED SIKHS work should be saluted”.</p><p></p><p> Located in Fremont, California, UNITED SIKHS Western Region office acts as a Family Resource Center, where a variety of integrated services are being provided in collaboration with Fremont Family Resource Center and partner agencies. "We spent number of hours guiding clients to empower them to be self sufficient in addressing their needs" said Jagmeet Kaur, Program Director.</p><p></p><p>As the number of individuals seeking assistance grows, UNITED SIKHS officers see an urgent need for further outreach and community resources. This has led to the establishment of UMEED, a UNITED SIKHS NATIONAL FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER with a nationally accessible toll free helpline.</p><p> “Every Sikh is born with an innate need to do seva. UNITED SIKHS has taken seva to the highest level. Identifying needs, seeking resources and developing the needed programs, they make the ‘right thing’ easy to do.
