Is IK ONG KAAR revealed or percieved? rev|e|la|tion «REHV uh LAY shuhn», noun. God’s disclosure of Himself and of His will to His creatures. MOOLMANTAR, the bedrock of SIKHI, that we recite several times a day, through which we come to know the real meaning of IK ONG KAAR, where GURU NANAK states that ONE TRUE GOD is formless, genderless, timeless, self created....... In other words IK ONG KAAR is NOT a being as many other religions propogate Him to be. According to my understanding, and I may be wrong as often as I am, that revelation takes place between two or more beings. The one who reveals has to be a deity in flesh which contradicts the very definition of IK ONG KAAR, based on MOOL MANTAR. per|cep|tion «puhr SEHP shuhn», noun. 1 the act of perceiving: His perception of the change came in a flash. SYNONYM(S): insight, apprehension, discernment, comprehension. 2 the power of perceiving: a keen perception. Defect in manners is usually the defect of fine perceptions (Emerson). 3 understanding that is the result of perceiving; percept: He had a clear perception of what was wrong, and soon fixed it. 4 Psychology. the study of the complex process by which patterns of environmental energies become known as objects, events, people, and other aspects of the world. Taking MOOL MANTAR in context, one can also draw a conclusion that Sikhi is not a revealed religion but a PERCIEVED one. Of course our Gurus did not take any credit about this perception. They were mere instruments, a medium to show us what IK ONG KAAR really IS. In fact our Gurus made themselves so insignificant that they used numbers rather than names. ( this also responds to my query of what names did our Gurus give themselves in the following thread ) http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/threads/hello-sangat-ji.277/ It is also worth noticing that in SGGS our Gurus never called themselves Gurus or by any other titles, but in the same context, they did not take away titles of the others whose GURBANI is in SGGS, eg Sheikh Farid, Bhagat Kabir etc etc. If GURBANI were revealed to them then they would take all the credit as Jesus, Mohammed and most of the other sages did that IK ONG KAAR only talked to them. In other words they were the chosen few where Gurbani says SABH GOBIND HEIN, GOBIND BIN NAHIN KOI. Hence, the sages become the DOOR GUARDS of the DASAM DUAR because they project that they hold the exclusive licence of the revelation, which can not be true according to GURBANI. Guru Amar Das ji further explains to us in Anand Sahib that each of one is given the DASAM DUAR through which we can recieve THE LIGHT in our dark dwellings. If GOD were revealed then the need of the 10th PORTAL would not be neccessary. This is a great interaction to have. I would like to have others' viewpoint about the above. Peace & Love Tejwant
