Parliament is not allowed to function. In private they say you (the PM) have taken a decision against a person who was a minister in Gujarat. You must reverse it or . . .” </span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">At this point, the Prime Minister paused and looked distinctly uncomfortable. </span></p><p><span style="color: navy">He then said, “I don’t want to say further.” </span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">There was a brief buzz before the next question was asked.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">The Prime Minister’s admission came in his interaction with editors of select news television channels at his residence in New Delhi. </span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">In the interaction, the Prime Minister sought to deflect attention from the series of scams coming to light, </span><span style="color: navy">saying the government was also doing positive things.</span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">But it was his revelation of the BJP demand that set the current political happenings in perspective. </span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">In public, the BJP has been saying that their campaign is targeted at a weak government that is not doing enough to combat corruption. </span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">For instance, the BJP stalled the whole of Parliament’s winter session saying the government must institute a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the 2G spectrum scam. </span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">The BJP stepped up its campaign again, days before Parliament’s Budget session is to begin. </span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy"><img src="http://www.tehelka.com/channels/Web_Specials/2011/Feb/16/images/amitshah.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /> </span></p><p><strong><span style="color: navy">Amit Shah </span></strong></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">Now, the real reason emerges. </span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">The Gujarat minister the BJP may be referring to is former minister of state for home affairs Amit Shah. </span></p><p> </p><p><span style="color: navy">Tehelka had first exposed Shah’s role in the fake encounter deaths of Sohrabuddin Shaikh, his wife Kauserbi and their friend Tulsiram Prajapati. </span></p><p><span style="color: navy">Shah was forced to resign following the Tehelka reports.
