Listen you guys, I commend you for your patriotism, outlook and confidence. God Bless you all! As far as I am concerned you guys are great but don't get trapped in the Indian political web. These people are very smart and cunning. Sikhs are basically simple and honest folks. This Govt. is not doing you any favours, they are using you. Believe me if they don't need you for defence - dying for the country, food - to feed their population, for your river/electricity and other resources, they would have perished you long time ago. Don't thing you guys are invincible, you are not. It took 150 years (Punjab has been part of british raj since 1849, and of India since 63 years) before you got a PM and Army chief as a token. I am not belittleing your feat. IT'S GREAT! but keep things in perspective in todays scenario. PM was not elected by electoral vote he was nominated by most powerful congress regime. HE HAS NO POWERS. Has he been able to help Punjab in any way constructively. Did you get any major idustry, any new power plants, did you get your capital back, did you get to keep your rivers, aren't your farmers committing suicide everyday........the list goes on. What have to gained except symbolic representation. Same is the case with the army Chief (JJ Singh). He has no powers, they don't need sikhs in the army anymore. The war is fought with preceptions and technology and brains not with brawn. You guys are now despensible. You guys are less than 10% of the indian army and reducing. Your officiers are less than 9%. (At one time your army was 20% sikhs and 65% of all officiers were sikhs). So the point I am trying to make is that don't forget your history, in relation to where you were and your present situation. Punjab use to be the richest state in the union until mid 1990's. Today you are in the fifth place, behind, Tamil Naidu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Haryana. In the next 5 years you will be in the seventh place and falling. What is PM/army chief/planning commission(ahluwalia) doing, NOTHING. I guess you guys are happy with symbolism. Fine, if thats what you want. One thing I will say, you guys did get some token money from this Govt. for the riot victims after 20 years. BUT STILL NO JUSTICE.........WAKE UP. I am sorry but I see things from a different angle and I don't think that sikhs are progressing in India, far from it. Be strong and brave. WGKWGF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
