[QUOTE="spnadmin, post: 150186, member: 35"] by Jagmohan Singh AMRITSAR: A disciple of Dera Sang Kahna Desia Balkar Singh was injured seriously when 20 aggressive followers of breakaway group of Damdami Taksal Ajnala attacked him with swords and sharp edged weapons when victim was heading to pay obeisance at Gurdwdara Shaheed Ganj with the other people of his group. Police said that incident occurred last night and FIR in this regard has been lodged under section 323,324 and 307 of IPC for attempt to murder and inflicting grave injuries. Police informed that one of the disciples of Dera Sang Kahna Desia became target of mob of attackers who attacked him with swords on his face and head. Attacker kept attack on Balkar relentlessly unless rescued by people who were accompanying him. Police said that Balkar was admitted in the Government Civil Hospital with multiple face injuries. Today in the morning his condition was described stable by doctors. It is noteworthy here that yesterday a big group of disciples belonged to Dera Sang Kahna Desia led by Mahant Surinder Singh Kahna Desia had arrived to appear at Akal Takht to express their apology for their religious mistake whereupon Jatehdar Akal Takht let them off by issuing simple warning to adhere Sikh tenets and give due respect to Guru Granth Sahib in future at the time of congregation. In this regard complaint before Akal Takht against Dera Sang Kahna Desia was that nearly a month ago followers had danced in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib which was considered blasphemous act as per the Sikh tenets. Followers of breakaway Damdami Taksal Ajnala were unhappy with the decision of Akal Takht since they were expecting severe punishment for the followers of Dera Sang Kahna Desia. Taksal followers carrying grudge in their mind they kept chasing right from Golden Temple to Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj where Balkar Singh was caught by followers of Damdami Taksal who injured him by inflicting sever injuries on his face. Earlier, last evening, clash between these two groups was averted with the timely intervention of Task Force of SGPC at the marbled periphery of the Golden Temple, when they were let off with simple warning by Jatehdar of Akal Takht Gyani Gurbachan Singh. It may be added here that Dera Sang Kahna Desia has large number followers across the State. The Dera is located in village Desia in Jallandhar district of Punjab.
