<blockquote data-quote="spnadmin" data-source="post: 119391" data-attributes="member: 35"><p><strong>November 1984 Sikh Massacre Justice Commitee formed</strong></p><p></p><p><a href="http://www.sikhsiyasat.net/2010/01/27/november-1984-sikh-massacre-justice-commitee-formed/" target="_blank">November 1984 Sikh Massacre Justice Commitee formed|SikhSiyasat.net – Sikh News and Multimedia.</a></p><p></p><p> Ludhiana (January 27, 2010): In a news letter sent by Sikhs for Justice on 26th January, it is informed that in furtherance of the November 1984 “Insaaf lehar”, Victims, survivors and other conscientious individuals gathered and formed “November 1984 Sikh Massacre Justice Committee” with the objective to get killings of Sikhs recognized as Genocide; get the proper and just compensation for victims, survivors and families from the Government of India; get a comprehensive resettlement package for the Sikhs families who were uprooted as a result of November 1984 massacre; help the victims, survivors and their families who have been denied Red Card in getting the Red Card; demand allocation of separate and exclusive quota for survivors and victims of November 1984 in admission to educational institutions and government job; and to purse the legal battle in seeking justice for November 1984 Sikhs massacre.</p><p> </p><p></p><p> The Justice committee will make sure that the government does not fail to keep its obligations towards the victims. The Justice Committee will ensure that all victims and survivors are adequately rehabilitated. The Committee will also steer and provide relief to the victims from other sources within and ouside the community. The Committee will bring forward witnesses and survivors, collect affidavits, record statements and document the massacre through out the country.</p><p></p><p>The Justice Committee comprises of 11 members: Rajinder Singh Sanga Moga, Surjit Singh Tarantaaran, Kashmir Kaur Mohali, Harjinder Singh Fatehgarh Sahib, Amarjit Singh Bathinda, Sukhdev Singh Jagrao, Bikar Singh Faridkot, Karnail Singh Kapurthala, Ajit Singh Amritsar, and Gurdeep Singh Ferozpur.</p><p></p><p></p><p> Addressing a large gathering of victims, survivors and other individuals Senior Advocate and Legal Advisor, HS Phoolka stated that although there is delay in justice, we should not loose hope and continue our struggle for justice and same will be achieved one day. Advocate Navkiran Singh called upon the witnesses not to be afraid and come forward and testify against the guilty. Mr. Kundan Singh stated that it is now well established that Sikh massacre of November 1984 was not Anti Sikh Riots but a planned and organised genocide of Sikhs and the massacre was not limited to Delhi but was spread through out the country in 18 states and more than 110 cities.</p><p></p><p></p><p> Speaking on the occasion Karnail Singh Peermohammad, President All India Sikh Student Federation stated that AISSF and Sikhs for Justice will follow the court cases and continue to pursue the legal battle as they have done in the past. He apprise the gathering of the cases against Sajjan Kumar coming up for hearing on February 1, 2010 and February 23, 2010 at Delhi Hight Court and against Jagdish Tytler on February 10, 2010.</p><p></p><p></p><p> Sikhs for Justice which is spearheading the justice campaign has formed a legal team to assist November 1984 Sikh Massacre victims, survivors and witnesses and to prosecute the perpetrators. The team consists of: Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, Attorney at Law; Harvinder Singh Phoolka Senior Advocate, Navkiran Singh, Advocate; Kamna Vohra Advocate; Varinda Grover Advocate; Rebecca Jones Advocate, Hardyajot Singh Ahluwalia Advocate; and Professor N.S.
