Before we take on the entire world to know us better and correctly we have a duty to ourselves. Why not we ask ourselves indivdually. What is a Sikh? Am I living an ideal Sikh"s life? It is a far cry and pretencious if we claim we understand the Gurbani when it is recited at Akhand or sapta Paths. I must ask myseld " do I recite Mool Mantra " correctly. Do I understand the meaning of Mool Mantra? I don"t want to make personal attacks, but I must say that from the Historic Gurdwaras we hear Mool Mantra read incorrectly and to expect that the GianiJi reciting Mool Mantra knows the meaning thereof will be expecting too much. Guru Granth Sahib Darpan by Prof. Sahib Singh is a great help for any one knowing Punjabi Lipi and is interested to learn what our bani, our Guru, says. Mere toto-Rattni of the Gur Bani will help us much. On the other hand our youth, both from thr rural and urban sector are discarding the religion of their parents. The culprits in this aspect are the parents as they have neglected their duty to cultivate their wards mind for Sikhi Sidhak religious culture. Some of our women are deeply involved in Hindu Karam Kand.It is never too late to remedy our shortcomings and we have every reason to be optimistick and give direction to the future generation.
