[QUOTE="Gyani Jarnail Singh, post: 178035, member: 189"] in 1877 when Earnest trumpp came from Germany to do an ENGLISH translation of the SGGS...so that the Emerging British Empire could understand the newly conquered enemy ( a very good strategy to KNOW the enemy served the British to keep their Empire going for centuries !!)...he searched high and low for someone to "TEACH" him...and all he found were the NIRMALAS..or the UDASIS...who of course taught him that the SGGS is just a SIMPLIFIED VEDAS becasue the Vedas Puranas are written for the EDUCATED CLASSES..while the Simplified version...called SGGS is for the MASSES. Getting off on the WRONG FOOT..and with his own ingrained superiity complex Trumpp did a very shoddy job..declared the Sikhs nothing more than a cultish sect of Hinduism and even gave up the transaltion after a few hundred pages..declaring..ALL SGGS is REPETITION...endless repetition only..no point finishing the job... Then the SIKHS got their heads together..and decided that enough is enough..and what emerged was the FIRST EVER COMPLETE TEEKA of SGGS..financed by the Raja of faridkot...called the FARIDKOTEE TEEKA...and it fell into the same TRUMPP TRAP becasue it was prepared by NIRMALA/UDASI academics who saw everything through BHAGWA ORANGE Spectacles...and in addition used the SAADH BHASHA for their teeka whcih made it inaccessible to the ordinary Sikh...a SECOND FAILURE.
