This month often coincides with Vaisakhi, making it a time to celebrate Sikh identity and raise awareness about Sikh traditions and values.Mayor Adams' decision to host a First ever Vaisakhi celebration at Gracie Mansion (NYC Mayor's residence) during Sikh Heritage Month signifies a recognition of the Sikh community's importance to New York City. This unprecedented event provided a platform to acknowledge Sikh heritage and celebrate Vaisakhi, fostering inclusivity and appreciation for the city's diverse cultural landscape. Program started from Ardas and continue with Shabad Kirtan (Simran Singh Arora,Gursimran Kaur Juneja  and Simran Kaur Wahan), Gatka Sikh Martial Art by Dr. Deep Singh and Jasved Singh from Gatka Federation USA and ended up with speeches by Harpeet Singh and NYC Mayor Eric Adams who address sikh sangat and dignatories present at this mega and historic event.</blockquote>
